The first part in being able to repurpose some of my old setup has been finished – I ordered the Yakima Corebar Bare Roof setup – the supports are rated to 165 lbs, which is actually just shy of the maximum roof load of the vehicle.
What I’ll have to do now is increase the spacing between the holes for the u-bolts – the Patriot was about perfect at a 2” gap, but this new setup will require 4” u-bolts to correctly grip the bars. I’ll have to take a little bit of time this week to get that done, and run over for some new bolts.
Toying around with some new ideas for microwave antennas. I’m likely going to use a singular piece of aluminum mast that’s taller, but this was just to see how it’d fit and look
